# Republish (Beta)

The **Republish** tool is designed to assist when needing to rename, re-link, or re-type a Version and its files. It requires the Desktop app to be running and may be run on either a Version, multiple Versions, or a Playlist of Versions. It takes changes made to Versions and creates a Delivery of type Republish which is processed by the Ingest Queue, and copies files into new locations.

## The Republishing Process <a href="#h_01jq85420f73y7zce7m7f71g5e" id="h_01jq85420f73y7zce7m7f71g5e"></a>

The Republish tool assumes that the changes you wish to make to the Versions have already happened by the time you run it. In order to update information on a Version first, follow the instructions below.

### To Republish <a href="#h_01jq86d8hqpk9c2k5k5kkedfby" id="h_01jq86d8hqpk9c2k5k5kkedfby"></a>

The [Desktop app](/artist-anywhere/i-o-tools/flow-production-tracking-desktop.md) must be running in order to see the Republish tool in the Flow Production Tracking website. To install the Desktop app, please follow the directions [here](/artist-anywhere/i-o-tools/flow-production-tracking-desktop.md).&#x20;

* You must **select** the **Version** or Versions you wish to Republish. This is done by hovering over a single Version, or clicking one and shift-clicking a second one to select a group, command-clicking a series of individual Versions, or using the **checkboxes** on the left.<br>

  <figure><img src="/files/lmwynYrvcwzhTDhV8tJf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* You may alternatively select one or more **Playlists** which are collections of Versions using the same methods:

  <figure><img src="/files/0suaVYbtYDu7IjmKfXiu" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Once you have your Version(s) or Playlist(s) selected, **right-click** or use the **More menu** and choose **Republish.** \
  \
  \&#xNAN;*Note that the Republish command (or any other Artist Anywhere tools) will not appear if the* [*Desktop*](/artist-anywhere/i-o-tools/flow-production-tracking-desktop.md) *app is not running.*

  <div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/mVeYPmAvZdPVrjzHZ7UF" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

* The Republish tool will then bring up a list of all files to Republish. If your Version includes multiple files, it will list all files (or image sequences).<br>

  <figure><img src="/files/QI0pRziFiiutdIeOVsiM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* It includes three columns:
  * **File Name** - this is the **new file name** that will be used after republish
  * **Current Published File Path** - the path on disk used by the file **before republish**
  * **New Published File Path** - the path on disk which will be used **after republish**

* If a file being Republished is not available, it will show up with an error in the Republish window, like this:

  <figure><img src="/files/uMiB27ob37W25Ncgkui3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* You then have four buttons to continue:
  * **Support** - this button will open this **documentation site**
  * **Close** - this button will **close the window** with no changes. The same effect will occur if you click the "X" (Windows or Linux) or red button (Mac)
  * **Republish** - this completes the Republish tool itself by creating a **Delivery** (**see below**). *The Files are not moved yet.*
  * **Export as CSV** - this will create a **CSV file** on disk which shows the same headers. The app will ask you to name the file on disk and give a success dialog:\
    ![](/files/6HYPTBT9khEX8dOk5E4c)<br>

* When the Republish button is selected, it creates a Delivery of type "Republish" with the Status as "Delivered".\ <br>

  <div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/ak15Qp1OH1yWC9FJsQe4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
You can click the "Jump to FlowPT" link to be takenmay click the "Jump to FlowPT" link to take you directly to the Delivery on FlowPT. To view all the Republish Deliveries, go to the Deliveries page in your FlowPT.\

{% endhint %}

### Ingest Queue Processing <a href="#h_01jq8csr7wcnvbytmmpw4p4fzh" id="h_01jq8csr7wcnvbytmmpw4p4fzh"></a>

The [Ingest Queue application](/artist-anywhere/i-o-tools/ingest-queue.md) must now be running on an Ingest machine (or any other computer that can see the file storage.\
\
![](/files/SflwN8NYip9KRn98gVAx)
