# RV-Photoshop

## Compatibility <a href="#h_01hmyce4mcy52h3k93b503123d" id="h_01hmyce4mcy52h3k93b503123d"></a>

{% hint style="info" %}
The tk-photoshopcc engine currently only supports up to Photoshop CC 2019 because the installation folders changed in version 2020. Once the engine is fixed, this tool will also work with Photoshop 2020.
{% endhint %}

## Usage <a href="#h_01hmycehb7a1v76zaszn2atgxz" id="h_01hmycehb7a1v76zaszn2atgxz"></a>

In case the user loads their footage using the Shotgun-Panel (Alt+B), they can use the Tools > RV Photoshop menu item (Alt+P hotkey) to send the currently displayed view to Photoshop.

In case Photoshop is not open, this package will open Photoshop using the tk-photoshopcc-engine.

Once the image is loaded inside Photoshop, the user may make changes to the image until they are happy to share their note.

By selecting the Add Note-app in the Shotgun Panel the user is now able to create a note attached to the version the screenshot was linked to.

To see the newly created Note in RV please reload the Details Pane (right-click > reload).

{% hint style="info" %}
As there can only ever be one Photoshop instance it is recommended to close Photoshop before using this command for the first time for each \`RV-session\`.

We recommend this, because if Photoshop was not opened by the package, it is not guaranteed, that the \`Add Note\`-app is currently loaded. To force loading the app the only way is to configure it in every possible environment and/or to launch \`Photoshop\` in the \`Version\`-environment. Neither will work if \`Photoshop\` was launched without using \`Shotgun Desktop\`.
